Maker Cube

Maker Cube, founded in 2017 by Adam Ali, Jacqueline Ali, and Doug Chan, is a family-operated and funded makerspace in Langley, British Columbia. It aims to support the community by providing a welcoming environment for makers of all backgrounds to explore their passions, learn new skills, and connect with others.

Maker Cube provides access to professional-grade tools for woodworking, metalworking, and 3D printing. They also foster a strong community through hands-on classes, workshops, and mentorship, helping members turn their ideas into reality.

The philosophy of Maker Cube is to foster innovation, learning, and creativity by providing the means for community growth. They highly encourage continuous education and skill building in all disciplines of making and fabrication, achieved through hands-on learning, mentorship, and cultivating curiosity.

Fabrication Services

Maker Cube offers various fabrication services for those who have design files ready. A +100% rush fee applies to projects with aggressive timelines.

3D Printing

• Use: Useful for creating complex geometry in various materials, including functional parts, rapid prototypes, casting mold components, and sculptures.
• Materials: PLA, PETG, ABS, Resin, and more.

Laser Cutting

• Use: Fast and versatile for precision cutting on thin materials like wood, acrylic, and leather. Can also engrave complex designs onto metal and glass.
• Maximum dimensions: 24″ x 36″ up to 1/2″ thickness (material-dependent).
• Materials: Plywood, MDF, Acrylic, Leather, ADA, EVA Foam, Cardboard, Paper.
• Note: No PVC, vinyl derivatives, polycarbonate, HDPE, ABS, Polystyrene/Polypropylene Foams, Fibreglass, or Carbon Fibre Composites.

CNC Routering

• Use: Ideal for larger projects requiring cutting hardwood, plywood, MDF, and plastic to create large 2D profiles.
• Materials: Can provide material or cut customer-provided sheet lumber (plywood, MDF). Hardwood material prep and glue-ups available at an additional cost.

CNC Plasma Cutting

• Use: For custom-shaped steel designs, artistic pieces, and structural components for welding.
• Maximum dimensions: 48″ x 48″ up to 1/4″ thickness.
• Material: Mild Steel in stock (11ga, 14ga, 16ga, and 3/16″ plate).

CNC Fiber Laser

• Use: For precision fiber laser cutting, intricate designs, and durable components with sharp, clean cuts and fine engravings.
• Material: Stainless steel, mild steel, aluminum, copper, brass, titanium, and various alloys.

Water Jet Cutting

• Use: For detailed designs and heavy-duty components, ideal for high-accuracy work across a wide range of materials. Can cut much thicker materials with smooth, precise edges.
• Material: Stainless steel, mild steel, aluminum, brass, copper, glass, stone, ceramics, various composites, plastics, rubber, wood, laminates, and delicate materials like foam, leather, and fabric.

Other Fabrication

• Services: Woodworking, metalworking, vinyl signage and stickers, 3D Modelling, Product Design, Logos & Branding, Artwork.
