3D Custom Color Printing

3D printing, rapid prototyping

Since our founding, Custom Color 3D Printing has been known for quality services, exceptional efficiency and the highest level of professionalism. No matter what service you’re looking for, we guarantee to not only meet, but exceed your expectations and ensure your full satisfaction.

Our team is up for every job, managing projects with the skill and experience our clients have come to expect. Please get in touch to learn more about our team, our company or for details about the services we provide.

Our services:

  • Design, Engineering, and 3D Printing
3D printing is an additive manufacturing method in which material is added to the workpiece to create the finished product, unlike subtractive manufacturing techniques like machining, which takes material away from the workpiece to form a product.
  • Production Nylon 3D Printing
At Custom Color, we work with many boutique clients to create full-color 3D prints. We are able to print figurines, artistic prints, functional/display models, and more.
  • Rapid Prototyping
Our 3D rapid prototyping services allow us to create fundamental versions of your product in order to assist in your design and engineering process.

Categories:

  • Printing Nylon Figurines (action figures)
We have partnered with Twindom, a provider of body scanning technology, to create realistic figurines.
  • Printed Architectural Figurine
Our team was tasked with creating components for more than 250 snow globes with highly customized features.
  • Prototyping Campaign
We worked with Chicago-based mobile technology company castAway to develop their patented two-screen phone cases.

Materials:

  • HP 3D High Reusability Polyamide 12 (PA 12)is a nylon material specifically designed for multi jet fusion machines. It comes as a fine powder and offers the advantage of being self-supporting, circumventing the need for constructed support structures. This allows for high-resolution parts and ultra fine details. PA 12 rates highly for toughness, tensile strength, impact strength, and flexibility.
  • Polylactic acid (PLA) is one of the most widely used materials in 3D printing. It is safe, dependable, relatively cheap, and bio-degradable. PLA is particularly environmentally friendly, as it’s derived from renewable resources such as corn starch.
  • Tough PLA is a chemically altered version of polylactic acid that features increased durability and strength, allowing parts to maintain their properties even in extremely high-use, demanding applications.
  • RIZIUM is a specially engineered thermoplastic designed exclusively for use in RIZE machines. It features an interlayer bond between each layer and ultra-low degree of moisture absorption which allows parts to maintain stability, toughness, and color properties.
  • RIZIUM Carbon is a special blend of RIZIUM enhanced with carbon fiber to produce ultra-strong and durable FDM parts, matching or exceeding the physical properties of several production metals.
  • Clearcoat: we offer a variety of finishing options for 3D printed parts. All of our parts are processed through a bead-blast chamber where high-grit material is sprayed over the parts to remove excess print material. There are four types of optional clear coat finishes available: matte, eggshell, semi-gloss, and high-gloss.
  • Painting: we offer both water-based and solvent-based automative-grade paint options. Parts are painted in an industrial paint booth for optimal coverage and consistency. Available in standard range of colors as well as metallic finishes like gold and silver. Paint finishes can be applied in addition to clearcoat finishes or independently.
