I’m Jason Davies, the owner/operator of Dauntless Design Works. I am a graphic designer, maker, idea fountain, Star Wars geek, Seahawk fan, husband and father in Bellingham, Washington. I like to collect new creative skills and am always looking for new ways to inspire and be inspired. What I love to do, more than anything, is to be invited to help others solve their design problems. I work and teach at Bellingham Makerspace, a FANTASTIC non-profit providing affordable access to world-changing tools and training to makers in the Bellingham area.
Services provided:
- Graphic Design: designing my world, for fun and profit. I’ve used the Adobe Creative Suite for 18 years, focusing on Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. I prefer to design for print and specialize logos, business cards, product labels, posters, flyers and brochures. Here is some of my best work from the last few years.
- Laser Cutting & Engraving: the laser cutter is a fantastically versatile tool for cutting and engraving wood, acrylic, tile and many other materials. Here are a few successful products I designed and made on the laser cutter.
- Scanning and Designing in 3D. I’ve been working with 3D scanning for a few years and have gotten some good results. I’ve scanned native masks, glasses frames, dolls, tchotchkes, plants, and other various objects. Each one has it’s own challenges to overcome in order to get a good clean scan. There are three different ways to make a digital 3D object:
- You can model it, using 3D design software like Blender, Maya, Tinkercad, Sketch-Up or a CAD program.
- You can download an already existing 3D object from a website like Thingiverse, TurboSquid or The Smithsonian Museum.
- You can take a 3D scan of an existing object, using a 3D Scanner or photogrammetry.
- Product & Package Design: I’m all about making things. I love to convert my digital designs into physical objects. Some are one-offs, some are custom products and displays for clients, others are full-blown products available in stores. Contact me to help you develop your ideas!
